About the client

The UN Global Compact Network Ukraine is the Ukrainian network of the world’s largest community of responsible businesses. It is the official representative of the United Nations Global Compact, the only UN initiative aimed at integrating the Sustainable Development Goals into the strategic and operational activities of responsible businesses. It encourages companies to align their activities and strategies with corporate sustainability and ESG.

The UN Global Compact has 22,000 companies in 162 countries, and 150 of them are participants of the Ukrainian Network.

ESG, which stands for Environmental, Social, and Governance, refers to a set of standards, policies, and metrics used by organizations and investors to assess a company’s environmental and social impact, as well as the quality of its governance practices.

Goal

UNGC Ukraine entrusted Blue Carrot with developing a series of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) educational courses. The first course focuses on the environmental component.

The course needed to provide structured knowledge on key environmental topics, including climate change, pollution, water resources, biodiversity and ecosystems, resource use, and the circular economy. It also aimed to showcase Ukrainian business case studies and support learners in understanding and applying EU sustainability standards.

The Environmental course consists of 5 modules, with a total of 11 lessons designed to deliver practical insights for participants.

Challenges

  • Translating expert materials into an interactive learning experience while keeping content accurate and practical.
  • Coordinating with SMEs and filming partners to maintain high-quality production.
  • Designing a course structure that would engage a diverse audience, from business professionals to the general public.

What we did

For this project, the partner provided subject-matter expertise and source materials, while our team transformed this knowledge into a structured learning experience — designing the curriculum, developing blueprints, scripts, and storyboards, and leading the full production process. Filming was carried out by our production partners.

Our approach

Focus on storytelling and interactivity

We design the course not only to present information but also to engage learners through real business case studies, quizzes, and exercises. The goal is to make abstract ESG concepts tangible and actionable.

Adaptation to the audience

Knowing that participants range from business professionals to the general public, we tailored content complexity and examples to ensure clarity without losing depth.

Collaborative and research-driven methodology

We worked closely with partner’s subject-matter experts (SMEs) to verify content accuracy and identify key learning objectives.
