Crafting a perfect game demo: Scenes, heroes, and UI
Attention-grabbing backgrounds and exciting storytelling are not enough to make your mobile game go viral. In addition to the elements and aspects that make a well-designed play, you need materials to market your product to prospective players. Such content has to capture and convey the general atmosphere of your game and give users an idea of what a game process looks like.
Mystery Tag (MysteryTag, https://en.mysterytag.com, 2024), a Cyprus-based company specializing in mobile games, needed simple yet intriguing videos to present its new game to customers. The video had to be short for advertising on social media and app marketplaces where users have a short attention span. In addition, the task was to showcase an already-developed game (Farmland) so users could see the game’s advantages, such as high-quality, eye-pleasing 3D graphics, a handy interface, and intuitive tasks at each game level.
How long does it take to develop a mobile game demo?
👉 When it comes to video leveraging 3D elements, new content based on already developed 3D models is becoming more budget-friendly. In the case of this video, after producing a 30-second demo for Farmland, we also created similar videos for other games by Mystery Tag — Harvest and Climb the Mountain.
The game demo video is entirely based on gameplay. To make it look realistic, the Blue Carrot team used 3D models and game storytelling by Mystery Tag combined with other graphic elements and music that can immerse users in the game atmosphere and spark their interest. It took our team six weeks to come up with three ready-to-publish videos.
